Meant to be?

It seems like Murphy was just meant to be.

Earlier this April, I had to make the terrible decision to put Hannah to sleep. Hannah was a beautiful 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback Redbone Coonhound Mix. She was a wonderful dog in many ways, unfortunately she had an aggressive side to her towards other dogs. After a very tragic incident with a foster puppy, I made the difficult decision to put her to sleep. This was the hardest decision I have ever made, but I believe it was best...for her, for the safety of my cat, and for me.

I had made up my mind that I would get another Dane...but wanted to wait until June because I had some trips planned and thought it would be better timing. Then came the post on Craigslist. An 11 week old Merliquin Dane needed a home because its owners had moved into an apartment that didnt allow dogs over 45 lbs. I took one look at the picture, and saw that he was cute. I spoke with the couple and I decided to go look. I was just looking, I swear!

Yeah, right. As soon as I walked into the apartment, I knew I was going home with a dog. He was gorgeous. Not only did he have looks, but his personality was perfect. He was smart, calm, playful and gentle all at the same time. You tell me, can you say 'No' to this?


What can I say? It was love at first sight.
