A very rainy week

Its been raining like crazy here in Sandy Eggo. For us wimpy doggies who live here, we are just not used to this kinda weather.

Average rainfall for Sandy Eggo is normally less than 12 inches, FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR!

somebody obviously doesn't know how to spell Sandy Eggo

Yes, January can be one of the wettest months but even then the average for January is less than 2.5 inches. This series of storms have given us almost 5 inches since Monday! Yesterday Mom said her rain gage had almost 2 inches in it for a 10 hour period! I sure hope someone around here is buildin a boat!

Because it's been so rainy, I've been completely cooped up in the house all week. There have been a few breaks in the rain so Mom has gotten to take me for a few walkies, but even then we've been caught up in a surprise rain shower a time or two.

After my earlier adventure in the front yard this week, Mom has banned me from the front yard until it dries out a bit. At this rate, that will be NEVER! My only outside time the entire week has either been on a leash, or in the back yard (with very few mud puddle opportunities, let me tell you) under close supervision.

Finally today it cleared up for a little bit, so Mom threw me in the car and off we went.

I was hopin we were headed to the dog park, but Mom had other plans. Mom said dog park would also be too muddy to run around in safely. She always worries I'll hurt myself when I run on wet grass or dirt. Says I'm not coordinated enough and that I'll slip and slide and blow my knee out or sumthin. What a worry wart.

So instead Mom decided to take me to another park and so we could have a nice walkie. On the way to the park I got to see some of the damage caused by the high winds here this week. Since we don't get much rain in Sandy Eggo, the trees around all have pretty shallow roots. Once the ground gets saturated and the high winds kick up, this is the result.

Good thing no one was in this car!

maybe when they fix the roof, they'll take the time to repaint a new color? I'm just sayin!

Don't worry...dat's not Mom's car, or Mom's house. But someone is sure not gonna be happy when they get home from work tonight!

Once we got to the park, Mom pulled out the flashy boxy thingy. Oh yeah...its week 3 of the 52 weeks of dogs project. Since its been so rainy out, this is the first chance Mom's had to get any pictures of me.

While I think I look pretty dang handsome in all of these, Mom's not quite sure they are "52 weeks of dogs" worthy. So, she's postin them here for now.

Murph-zilla has come to stomp your buildings!

This is what I think of that flashy box (see my tongue!)

my contemplatative pose

After a bit of posing, me & Mom went for a nice long walkie. She din't get any pictures during the walkie cuz she says she's not coordinated enough to walk and take pictures at the same time.

Tomorrow the forecast is for more rain, but then its suppose to be back to our regular sunny weather for the rest of the weekend. That dang weatherman better be right!

Hi Murphy! Tell your Mom that ALL of those pictures are worthy. They are really good.

It's a good thing you are a good swimmer. If the rain doesn't stop soon you might be swimming instead of walking :) Sure hope your Mom can swim too! We are used to lot's of rain here. Yuk :(

Kisses,
Emma Rose

Hey Murphy,
We gotsa lots of snow this week, wanna trade?

I haven't had a real walk all week cause of all the snow. Momma says I'll slide and fall and we have to wait until the plows clean up our walking road. (I live on a busy 50mph road so I can't walk on it, I have to go on the other road by the ocean cause that ones 20 mph.

Stupid weather.

I love that last picture of you! But they're all great!
Rain is a pain! Darwin can't stand it, she's such a drama queen when even one drop falls on her. I think you guys are getting more rain down there in Cali then we have gotten this week in Seattle!

I like the Murph Zilla! Run away!

That blue house got squished, huh? That is way too windy.

Murphy, it is raining like that up here in the Inland Empire too. And lots of barking from the sky. Mommy and daddy come home wet all the time. Mommy was able to get me out early enough each morning before the rain started again, but today it never stopped. I dont even like to go outside to do my thing. Mommy is always afraid it may happen in the house, so daddy has to keep taking me out. I dont wanna go.....
BARK! Sasha the princess!

Last year we had a TON of rain, and I built an ark. I think Mom has it in the garage someplace if you need to borrow it... I hope it stops raining for you soon (because I thought it never rained in Southern California....*grin*)

I'm really enjoying your "52 weeks of" series of photos of Murphy, you have quite "the eye" for photography! I'm so envious :)
