Mom can't believe that I'm 2 already...it seems like just yesterday, when I came to live with her at 12 weeks old.
For those of you who don't know, Mom found me through a Craigslist ad. My first humans (let's call them 'the dumb ones') bought me from a BYBer somewhere in Mass a chu sits and shipped me all the way to Sandy Eggo. 2 weeks after they got me, the dumb ones moved into an apartment that didn't take big dogs. (now can you see why we call them the dumb ones?)
Anyhow, Mom had recently lost her last doggie Hannah and was heartbroken over it. She knew she wanted another Great Dane, so she started lookin at both reputable breeders and at rescues or other people who needed to rehome their doggie. That's when she found ME!
The dumb ones gave Mom my breeders information, so she contacted them to find out more about my parents. Mom later put two and two together and figured out she was a BYB cuz as soon as Mom asked questions about what kind of health testing my parents had, the woman stopped answering Mom's emails.

Before my breeder stopped talking to Mom, she sent her some of my baby pictures. My eyes just opening here...maybe 2 weeks old?
Here I am, at either 3 or 4 weeks. Pretty cute, huh!
There were 11 pups in my litter! That's a lot of mouths to feed! Can you spot me in the video? Mom says I'm right at the beginning, and again at about 50 seconds into it. I think I was about 4 weeks old in this video
Since the dumb ones couldn't keep me, Mom arranged to go up and see me. She says she was just going 'to look'....yeah right!
Here's the very first picture she took of me...it was from her cell phone, so the quality isn't that good, but could you resist that face?
We stopped at the pet store on the way home...course I needed a new bed and some toys! and the rest is history!

Love love love the puppy pictures! And the video! OMG the sound of baby Danes! We realized we didnt really take any videos of Darwin and her siblings when they were tiny... how stupid of us. But to see your baby video brought back so many memories! And I could tell which was you!

Oh Murphy!! I never knew your story! That is so sad about your breeders being BYB but thankfully, it looks like you've grown up OK and I think you are one of the most handsomest Danes I've met! And wow - look at you now compared to those puppy pictures (which, by the way, are so ADORABLE - my ears are still ringing from Hsin-Yi's squealing!) - love the video too. Your poor mummy - that was a lot of puppies she had to look after - she looked a bit fed-up in that photo! :-)
