Back in October/November, me & Mom took a Therapy Dog prep class with a training group here in Sandy Eggo. The class was given by Paws'itive Teams, and its purpose was to give Mom more information about all the different therapy dog programs out there, as well as get me used to some of the situations I'd be exposed to as a Therapy dog. Walkers, wheel chairs, over-excited kids. We practiced all kinds of situations so I'd be prepared for the big day.
Well, I graduated that class and then Mom decided to get us certified with Therapy Dogs Inc. Delta Society was out of the question cuz I am on a raw diet, and a few of the other national certification programs don't allow you to be certified with more than one group. We knew we might want to do a variety of things, and Therapy Dogs Inc seemed to fit us perfectly.
Right before Mom went on her big trip, she took me to be evaluated. I passed with flying colors! Our next step was to have supervised visits with the evaluator. So she could make sure my personality was going to be a good fit for a Therapy dog.
We finished the last of the supervised visits today, and I'm all signed off! Now Mom just has to send in the paperwork and I'll be able to go visit kids in the hospital! How pawsome is that!?!
