Paws in the Park

There was another dog festival this weekend, so Mom loaded me up into the car and we headed up to Solana Beach, CA. A little beach community about 20 minutes north of Sandy Eggo. This one was called "Paws in the Park" and it had all kinds of neat activities going on!

First, we got to watch a demo of the Bernese Mountain Dog Carting group. It was neat to see these working dogs in action! I think I'd be scared if I had a big cart attached to me!!

Another friend was at the festival. Beautiful Cleo in her cool dogs hat.

After saying Hi to Cleo, we then we met up with Wilson...and a new friend named Bella. Bella's the lil grey one in the bottom of the photo. That's her dad givin Wilson chin skritches.

Bella was a super cute 3 month old girl dane. She's gonna grow up to be quite a beauty!

Bella was a super sweet girl and not scared at all of a big oaf like me! Look how lil she is!! Can you believe that yours truly was once that lil?

Our friend Dawn, from "Leash Your Fitness" was also there giving a demo on her bootcamp classes. There were a lot of participants!
Some of our friends from class were also there. Its so much fun running into friends!
Hey look Mom! Its Ginger!!!

Then came the real entertainment! These dogs were amazing! Here's a picture of a little rat terrier doing quite the balancing act!

Did you know that dogs can fly!?!?!

We also got to watch doggies doing agilities.

Phew! Watching all that exciting stuff is not only tiring, but I sure worked up a thirst! So, it was off to Yappy Hour to grab a Yappetizer & Muttini!
After a little break, Mom and I wandered about a little more. There were lots of booths & vendors, but not many people were giving away freebies. And boy..does my Mom like freebies, so she was a lil disappointed.
I made a few more friends as we wandered thru the crowds though. Here was a funny looking chap...a Hairless Terrier is what his humans said he was. Mom thought he was a Chinese Crested at first, but obviously he was missing his crest!
Two more young pups were making the rounds. Sophie & Chloe were there names. Such cute little babies!! Their humans said they were only 12 weeks old!

this lil one's ear wasn't cooperating!

Not only were there lots of doggies at this dog festival, but the 'House Rabbit Society" also made an appearance. I was very curious about these guys...I've never seen a rabbit before! I wasn't allowed to get too close when I was standing up though, so I scrunched down to get a better look. Man did they ever have BIG ears!!

By the end of the afternoon, everyone was getting a bit tired. This lil guy seemed to have found a nice spot to rest. Think my Mom would let me do that??

On the way out, Mom and I saw this funny lookin guy. He was trying to learn to do Flyball and was so many different colors! I thought the clover on his bum was pretty funny but I tried not to laugh cuz Mom kept saying it was rude.

I stopped along the way out to make some more new friends...two wee little chihuahua's came over to say Hi. Everyone always laughs when I stand next to a chihuahua. I don't quite get it.

Phew. What a fun day, watching all the activities...seeing old friends, and making new ones. I sure was beat!

You have flying doggies where you live? Great pics and looks like lots of fun. Poor poodle! They seem to bear more rediculousness than all other dog breeds combined!

I don't get it either. If you and I stood next to each other people would laugh? They don't get it. I love festivals, thanks for sharing :)

Oh wow, Murphy - you always go to the coolest events and places!! You're so lucky to have a great human who takes you out and about so much! I loved all the photos!

But can you explain this "leash your fitness" thing? Is it an exercise class that humans do with their dogs??

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane

What fun...same thing happens when I stand next to a little doggie but the difference is much greater with you Murphy. :) Anyway, that sounds like such a fun event and ph, that poor painted shamrock dude. :( Hope he forgets about that day. ;)

As for the insurance question above, we have no idea?? Sorry and good luck.

Kisses,
Nala

Wow, that looks like such a fun day! So many different pups to meet and activities to do. And what a gentleman you are to be so kind and gentle with young'uns like Bella -- that's soooo sweet!
