Mom and I went on a BIG boat today!!
Hornblower Cruises was having their annual Pet Day on the Bay fundraiser for the Helen Woodward Animal Center. All Mom has to do is bring a 'gently used' towel or blanket as a donation. Pretty cool, huh?!?
There were lots of other doggies...even some of my friends from the Great Dane Meetup were there!
Rebel...a 7 year old rescue Harlequin
There were also lots of non-Great Dane doggies there. This one looked like he was ready to be captain!
Bella came out too. She's 5 months old now, and has grown quite a bit since the last time we saw her at Paws in the Park!
All the doggies were very well behaved. There wasn't even one accident on the big boat!
At first I was kinda nervous. When we walked onto the boat we had to go on a long metal dock that kept movin a little...it was a little strange! Then, once we got on the boat I could see the water below but couldn't figure out quite how to get there!
Pretty soon, I relaxed though and started to enjoy the ride. It was a beautiful day out on the water
And there was a nice lady walkin around main sure none of us doggies were thirsty! How nice is that!
The city looked beautiful as we cruised around the bay.
We even got to see a yacht race with some really cool old ships! Mom found out later that these were rare steam powered yachts, and that the race was a special event! The dark boat is named Cangarda, and the white boat is called the Medea. The Medea is a steam powered yacht from 1904! That's OLD!
It was kinda neat to see all the different boats on the water. Everyone was definitely taking advantage of a beautiful day.
The boat we were on cruised around the harbor for about an hour, passing underneath the Coronado Bay Bridge before turning around and heading back to dock.
We even got to cruise by some of the hugemongous Navy ships that are routinely docked in the San Diego harbor.
After a while it got a little warm in the sun, so I headed downstairs to go inside where Bella, Trinity & Rebel had moved to. While the boat headed back to the dock, we had a great time playin around!
Once back on land, we got to see Stars & Stripes USA Sail 11 cruise by. This is a sailboat that a friend of ours works on, and used to be part of the racing team for the America's Cup.
To end our afternoon, everyone headed over to Anthony's Fish Grotto for some foodables. Mom said the salmon sandwich was super yummy! Err...Umm...Mom? I'm bein super good, don't I get a bite?
All in all, what a great day! I'm so glad Mom's back so we can get back to doing fun stuff like this!

What a cool trip. We have never been on a boat like that.
That is so neat Murphy! I would love to go on a boat. I bet your Mom is so happy to be home with you again. Vacations are nice but they don't give kisses!
Kisses,
Emma Rose
That looks like so much fun. I wish I could do that.
