Man oh Man....Summer has finally arrived here in Sandy Eggo.
Over the last few months, its been unseasonably cool. Typically we have what is called "May Grey" and then it morfs into "June Gloom". What that means is a heavy layer of coastal clouds that creep inland and can sometimes take all day to burn off. So us Sandy Eggo-ans know that May and June are not warm months. What we don't usually have is that cool grey weather creeping into July & even August!
But finally...this week...Summer has decided to arrive. And let me tell you...it arrived with a bang!
Me & Mom's house (lets be real...its my house & I just let Mom live there so she can take care of me) is pretty old for California standards. A small cottage, built in 1926, its nice and cozy with lots of character. Unfortunately, that character doesn't come with insulation...which means the house soaks up lots of the suns warmth and then does not want to let it go. Lots of times, when its super hot during the day...even if its cool at night the house stays warm. Last night, Mom got home from work and it was almost 90 degrees inside...even though it had cooled down to a nice 75 degrees outside.
I was hot. So Mom loaded me into the car and we headed to Fiesta Island!!
Can you guess what the first thing was that I did when we got there?
If you guessed this, you were right!
Up to my neck in nice cool water...woo! That felt GOOD!
after a bit of a cool down, it was time for some romping...
and some fishin. Nope, din't catch anything!
and some diggin in the nice cool sand...
I met some new doggie friends who looked a little surprised to see me!
and played with some old doggie friends as well (that's Atticus!)
practiced a little bubble blowing in the water...
and then we saw this crazy dog! Boy was she insane over her ball!
Check out that bounce!
she was quite amazing to watch as she charged the water and made a tremendous leap to get her ball
Chloe couldn't believe the distance she could jump!
Ari was there too...but in her typical fashion, she just lounged around like a queen
Chloe followed suit...
Finally it was time to head home. Boy oh boy, I coulda stayed there for another couple a hours!
please Mom...just 1 more hour of swimmin? I'm not soggy at all!
But Atticus was pretty pooped, so Mom said it was time to go home..
Thank goodness for oceans...cuz otherwise I might melt!!

Murphydog, I'm not going to lie. I'm completely jealous of your trip to the water!
We're in the same boat as you--old house, no insulation. And boy, oh boy, did Summer come fast this week. Kona had to settle for the kiddie pool for her exercise today.
Love the pictures of your jumping friend!
what an action-packed blog you have :) seeing you swimming and having so much fun at the ocean, i wonder why i complain when sapphire walks out into the rain.
That is a great way to cool off on a hot day! We wish we had a beach like that. We love to see you racing along the shore. Stay cool.
Your friends,
Niamh & Ambrose
That looks like a super fun day Murphy! Darwin puts her face under water like you do!
And that dog... man was he bouncy!
It has been crazy-hot here in Chicago, and I am looking at your swimming pictures with envy. I also love the pictures of the incredible jumping dog. I wonder if he has the problem with fences too.
All that watery romping time did look cool. And could that visiting dog ever sky!
Stopping by on the blog hop... these photos are amazing. Especially the jumping ones!
