You can see where she messed up at the 3rd station. After she walked around me and got back into the 'heel' position, she should have pawsed a moment before moving on to the 4th station. Oh well...we have 2 more shows coming up at the end of March. I'm going to work with her some more and hopefully we'll get 2 more legs and get our Rally Novice title!!
Are you followin me??

Rally Video!
Here's the video taken during last week's Rally-O competition. Mom definitely needs some more training...every time I sat she was quite crooked in related to my big body!

murphy,
grrreat job on your first rally! 4th place is pretty spiffy on your first try! make sure your mama's practicin' hard so that next time you can get that first place you really deserved! teehee.

pee s -- i like to drive my mama nuts and sit kinda crooked, too. ;)
Terrific job Murphy!!!! And your mom did pretty well too. Straight sits are hard, especially with you being such a big guy but we are very impressed. Can't wait to hear how you do at your next trial.
Your friends,
Niamh & Ambrose
great job!!
Nice job Murphy, especially with all the distractions!

Wow, Murphy - that is SOOO fantastic!! Congratulations - well done! I think 4th place is WONDERFUL for your first try! I loved watching your vidoe - you did so well in such a crowded, noisy place with so many distractions. Your human must be so proud of you!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. I do crooked sits too! I think it's a Big Doggie thing. Also, I think my human taught me the wrong thing when I was a puppy by always asking for Sit with me in front of her and always giving me treats when I'm facing her - so I always sort of try to swing round to face her a bit, when I'm sitting, even when I'm next to her - coz I'm so used to getting rewarded in that position!
To try and fix this, Hsin-Yi has been not rewarding me with any treats or praise if I sit crooked but she just takes another few steps forward and asks for the Sit again - I usually sit better the 2nd time! You can also practise alongside a wall...but to be honest, since we don't compete much and Hsin-Yi doesn't really care about straight Sits for real life, she can't be bothered to spend too much time & effort training this with me when there are loads of other things to train (and you know our Dane brains can only hold so much!!)
I see the problem as this - that floor looks hard! They are lucky that you sat at all!

Oh Murphy, I have just watched your video. You were both wonderful. You were so calm and relaxed. I am sending you a great big hug for being so great. HUG!!!! No worries, love Carol.
O that was great Murphy - 4th place on your first go is something to be proud of :)
Like Honey said, it might be a big dog thing to like to sit crooked - we do the same thing! hehe
Licks and lots of slobber,
