Fiesta del Paws!

Phew! Our Saturday wasn't over...in fact we had another big function to go to here in town, and this one was super important!

You see, there's a fabulous charity here in town called PAWS San Diego. They do amazing work by providing essential pet services and support to low income elderly, chronically ill and disabled individuals.

They provide pet food & supplies, transportation & veterinary assistance for lots of well deserving people & animals around Sandy Eggo county. If it weren't for PAWS San Diego, many of these individuals would be forced to give up their beloved pets.

A couple of weeks ago, Mom's friend who is on the board for the charity, sent her an email inviting me to be a special VIP guest. Wow!! I can't tell you how honored I was!

The other special guests were Chopper the Biker Dog & Surf Dog Ricochet. Holy cow...there's no way I'm even close to being as special as those two!

The event was held at a gorgeous house in an area of Sandy Eggo called North Park. It was a GIANT mansion, with an even bigger back yard. Mom thinks we coulda fit 5 or 6 of our house on the property...and still have had a little room! BOL!

There was a brilliantly blue pool, but the doggies were asked to stay out of the water...otherwise it woulda been a big wet mess!

I can't tell you how many pets, massages and scritches I got. I lost track shortly after we arrived.

The MC was a local radio personality named Shelly Dunn. She sat at our table and was super nice!

There were only a handful of doggies at the event...but PAWS supports all kinds of creatures, not just doggies, so this gorgeous kitTON was also in attendance. Mom was able to keep me from noticing the kitTON cuz even though I have 2 at home, for some reason when I see them outside the house I don't realize they are the same kind of animal and get WAY too excited wanting to say "Hi" (and maybe chase them just a little!)

Surf Dog Ricochet was given a special honor and awarded the "Companion for Life" award. She totally deserved it!

A little while later Spike Taylor also showed up. He is such a dapper dude.

Scruffy, Spike, me & Ginger got to take a picture together!

Not only did they have lots of foodables for the humans, they also had this amazing treat bar for us doggies provided by Fido & Co, Sandy Eggo's original Canine Country Club! It basically was an 'all you can eat' buffet, but Mom wouldn't let me eat everything cuz she said it would probably give me a tummy ache.

As the evening was wrapping up, one of the neighbors came of for a little free food. In case you don't know who this is, he's Bill Walton...he was a big time basketball player and cuz he was soooo tall he made me look like a regular sized doggie!

Phew...what a long day it was. Spike's Mom thought it would be fun to get a picture of Spike sitting on me...and I almost fell asleep while I was waiting for them to take the picture! BOL! Not really but doesn't think picture look that way? Mom wishes it wasn't so fuzzy, but Spike kept slipping off my back so it was hard to get a good picture.

What an amazing evening. So many people came out to help raise money for a grrrreat cause. It was an honor to be one of the special guests, and we sure hope they invite us back next year!!
