BSL is BS...

Mom stole the title of this bloggie post...

Hopefully, Ernie & Dexter won't mind. Mom just wanted to spread the news to help stop BSL (Breed Specific Legislation).

Ernie & Dexter's Mom is heading to Blogpaws West which is going to be held in Denver, Colorado. Denver has a breed specific law. Pit bulls are not only banned, but could be euthanized just because of their breed. Can you believe that!?!

If something like that were to happen here in Sandy Eggo, my BFF Ginger would be in serious danger!

Me & Ginger have a great time together. Whenever I am out and I spot her, I immediately have to drag Mom over to say "Hi!". I can't help it if Mom's not payin attention, I mean come on...get with the program!

Our favorite game to play is bitey face. Here she is...a 'vicious' pit bull...attacking me! And boy, do I love it!

She's just a lil gal...at least compared to ginormous ole me, but she's a true beauty inside and out. Don't you just love her beautiful chocolate coloring?!?

Anyway...Ernie & Dexter's Mom has made a pledge to donate $1 for every post card that is sent to the Mayor of Denver, CO. Its part of an educational effort called "Operation Denver" which is being organized by Maggie over at "Oh My Dog". They are tryin to get a mile's worth of post cards sent to the Mayor to help him understand the damage this ordinance can do.

The postcards need to be 4x6" which means they need to receive 10,560 post cards in order to reach that goal of a mile. There are even templates for the Mac or the PC to make it super easy for you. There's more information on exactly what to do at Maggie's bloggie post, so the easiest thing to do would be to read about it here.

While you are visiting at Maggie's blog, make sure to send some good vibes for Emmett. They found a lumpy on his back and are a little nervous about what it might be!

Come on every doggie (& kitty!), lets help put a stop to BSL!

Thanks so much Murphy (and Momma)! There are tons of dog lovers out there, and we need every one of you to get Denver's attention.

Ginger sure is a gorgeous girl - it goes without saying that you are a handsome boy.

Dex and Ernie send their thanks!

Thanks for the info. We hate BSL too. Our next door neighbor, Bronx, is a pit bull mix and she is a great dog.

Your friends,
Niamh & Ambrose

Ugh, legislation like that does nothing to help a community and certainly doesn't help dogs. If we could only redirect some of that "ban them" energy into education and dog training. My goodness, if something like that passed in LA, we'd lose most of our dogs!

PS Murphy, I love your header.

Thanks for the info about the insurance companies! I'll have to look into that.
When we first picked our insurance I didn't really think we'd go down a holistic route, but silly me!
