I'm excellent!
Mom got a call from the Betterinarian today. My titer results were in!
Both results (Distemper & Parvo) came back indicating a high level of antibody protection. That means no vaccinations for me for this year! Whoohoooo!
Well, that's not entirely true...I did get Bordatella when I was there, cuz I go to dog park & dog beach alot (did I mention that the beach is one of my most favoritest places ever!?!). I will also have to get a Rabies vaccine in September...it will be my one year booster and then after that I will only have to get them every 3 years. Unfortunately, titering for Rabies isn't acceptable by the state so I have to get the yucky shot instead.
Anyway...to celebrate, guess where Mom took me!
Yep! The BEACH!!
While we were there I got to meet a new Great Dane friend. His name was Sterling, and he was just 1 month younger than me! He was a handsome Merle Dane that I'd never met before, but boy did we hit it off!
Mom took a lil video of us playin together. He was so much fun! I sure hope I get to play with him again!
Tomorrow, we head to the Great Dane Specialy show in Irwindale, CA. We're just gonna watch, but it should be fun! Then after that we are going to my Grandpawrents. My Grandpaw is finally retiring after 40 years of teaching at the same school! Can you imagine how many dog years that is!?!
Its gonna be a busy weekend, and I'm sure Mom will have the flashy boxy beast with her so we can give you lots of updates when we get back!

Congrats on your great titer results. It is always good not to have to get any shots. Your dog beach is a terrific place and we are glad that you met a fun new friend.
Your friends,
Niamh & Ambrose
You and Sterling look like you had a blast together!
I cant wait til Darwin is totally healthy again and we can go back to the dog park and let her play with her Dane friends!
Yay for titers! My vet said they were about $130 each and talked me into just going for the vaccine which is a 3 year thing for Parvo too. I am such a pushover!
I did also get Bordatella because 2 of 3 dogs I foster have shown up with Kennel Cough. They also talked me into Canine influenza vaccine which I understand is sometimes combined with bordatella but if not it might be worth looking into. Maybe less risky just going places with other dogs compared to being in the same house with them though. Your vet sounds like a good one and probably would have suggested that if Murphy needed it though.
That's great news about your titres, Murphy!
And - woohoo! - that looked like the most awesome time at the beach with your new friend!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
BARK! What a fun time on the beach. I like water and sand, but since I dont play nice, mommy and daddy cant take me when other doggies are around.
BARK! Sasha the Princess
