Ode To Dhani

while I love Fiesta Island any time of the year...Mom thinks its truly a magical place during spring time.

Fifteen eleventy thousand million yellow and white daisies pop up during this time of year...especially if we've had a good rainy season. And boy have we had a rainy season here in Sandy Eggo this year. Last Mom heard, we were 120% above our average rainfall here in Sandy Eggo, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the north of us have a tremendous snow pack...165% of normal! This is really really good news, cuz that's where Sandy Eggo gets a lot of its water from! Because of that, the 3 year drought in Southern Calfifornia was officially called as "over" yesterday!

This year, the flowers are so pretty. Each night we go out to romp on Fiesta Island, Mom brings her camera...hoping to get some good shots of cousin Dhani.

Cousin Dhani is crazy though! She hardly ever slows down long enough to get a good picture! Finally, last night Mom got a few good ones. As you can see in the photos to follow...most of the time, Dhani's just a blur!

Finally! She's a little tired out and stops to take a break.

and then she's off again!

by the end of the evening, she's not only wet from running and playing in the ocean...but she's truly a 'yellow' dog from all the pollen! BOL!

It was a colorful Monday evening

it started raining last night, and BOY did it rain.

today, we had showers off and on throughout the day, so everything was super wet when Mom got home

Instead of taking me to Fiesta Island like usual, we went for a walk with Cousin Dhani in Balboa park.

Almost as soon as we got out of the car, it started raining again. But it was sunny! so strange!

then I looked up and saw this!

I love it when the sky is so pretty!!

Got my title!

Last day of the dog show, and thankfully the rain stayed away til we were done.

The course was not too bad. A little cramped again, but after yesterday I was used to it.

Mom screwed up again and cost us 1st place, but even with her big 10 point mistake

I still got another 2nd place finish and my final qualifying leg!

I am now MurphyDog...CGC, RN. Gonna hafta get new business cards made!

Very first station...I was suppose to do a "Front, finish left" and keep moving (no sit after the finish)...but Mom didn't realize that so she asked me to sit. Guess she STILL needs more practice!

boy was I pooped. So tired that I fell asleep sitting up! Thank goodness for headrests!

Good grief Mom...do we HAFTA take another picture!?!

A leg to stand on

its a big weekend. Another dog show.

this time Mom signed me up for both Saturday and Sunday in Rally Obedience: Novice A.

I got my first qualifying leg and 4th place back in February at the Silver Bay Kennel Club dog show. If you'll recall, Mom made a mistake that cost us 10 points. I think she's learned her lesson though, so I was hoping for the best today.

This course was going to be a little tougher. Mainly cuz of the size of the ring...don't these people know how large I am? Come on people, I need some space to move!

checkin out the course (in the far side of the picture)

cousin Dhani came to cheer me on!

2nd place! I scored 98 out of 100!

only one more qualifying leg and I get my Rally Novice (RN) title!
Do you think I can practice medicine after that?

Tomorrow is our next trial. Wish me luck!!

Why I like Daylight Savings...

its still light for a couple of hours after Mom gets home from work!

that means, there's still time to go to the BEACH!!

and still time to play with little sticks!

and still time to watch the birds!

and still time to stalk an unsuspecting dog!

Whoohooo! I love daylight savings time!

Paws for Japan

Have you been watching the news?

Mom has...she can't seem to stop watching the news.

The company Mom works for has a plant in Japan. In Fukushima...where the Nuclear power plant is. Fortunately, they were able to contact corporate offices in the U.S. and let them know everyone was OK, but both of the buildings had some damage and many of her coworkers from Japan had their houses destroyed. Mom keeps praying everything will be ok with the power plant. Can you send a prayer too?

It makes her super sad...to see all the devastation and destruction that happened in Japan. To think of all the men, woman and children who lost their lives. It makes her think about what would happen if a large earthquake like that hit here...in Sandy Eggo, CA. What would she do if she wasn't at home when it happened...how would she get back to me & the kitTONs. What kind of emergency kit should she put together for all of us? Its been on her mind a lot since Friday, and then yesterday, she sees this video on Facebook.

A woof of warning for your humans...make sure there are tissues close by. Mom's eyes leaked all over the place and now all she has to do is think about the dogs in the video and they start leaking again.

Be a part of the change...World Vets is collecting donations to help the animals in Japan. You can donate by clicking here, or if you click on the 'chip in' linky on the left side of our bloggy. Any little bit helps.

UPDATE from Two Little Cavaliers Bloggie:
These dogs were rescued! This is from Kenn Sakurai on FB "This is what it's like when we could find the dogs at the actual disaster area. The white has gotten weak but the brown one i...s not allowing to get closer. The TV crew shot this. We have already got these dog. But it too two hours to take them to the closest shelter. The guys who had done that had the bigger plastic cage on the back of the bike. Having such weight on the back is risky for going the way with no road." and "Both dogs brought to Mito, Ibaraki. One is staying at the vet clinic and the brown and white one is at the shelter."

Caturday Blog Hop

I'm surrounded

This one...taking over my bed & my toy as if she owns the place...

and this one...I noticed her just moments before she attempted a death leap on me. It was a close call...
