Product Review - Kuranda Bed

A couple of weeks ago a package came addressed to me. It was long and narrow and neither Fergie or I could figure out what was in it!

Finally, when Grandpaw & Grandmaw were visiting, Mom got around to opening it up. Fergie had to inspect it immediately!

Out popped a bunch of stuff that Grandpaw had to put together. Pieces of pvc, some short legs & big piece of nylon material. I still couldn't figure it out but it seemed like a good thing to stand on. I got yelled at to move my big butt!

Grandpaw didn't find me very helpful. I don't know why!?! BOL!

Fergie tried to help too. How come SHE didnt get yelled at when she stepped on it?

Pretty soon, I could tell it was a new bed. Mom got it from a company called Kuranda because she had heard a lot of good things about this bed. So exciting!! I thought Moose should be the first to try it out.

Moose loved it!

Next it was my turn. The material piece seemed to Mom to be a little loose and saggy fitting but I didn't mind too much.

It was the perfect size!

Mom even got a nice cover for it so it would fit in with the decor a little more. Who am I to care about decor? BOL!

After a couple of days though, Mom thought it seemed even saggier. She took the cover off and noticed I was almost touching the floor! I know I weigh a lot, but she was not happy. These beds cost lots of green paper and this wasn't living up to her expectations.

I'm almost touchin the floor!

check out how saggy the old bed was!

So, when the company emailed her asking her for a review of the product, she told them what she thought. It was saggy, and loose, and really kind of wobbly.

The company was AWESOME! They asked her to call them right away and when she talked to the customer service person and explained all the things she was unhappy with, they apologized...said sometimes there are lemons that get thru their quality control process, and they would send a new bed out right away. They thought aluminum would be better because of my size, so a few days later it arrived in the mail! Mom put it together right away and was SOOOO much more happy with it. It doesn't sag or creak when I get on it. I even like it better!!

Mom was VERY impressed with the awesome customer service she received. She highly recommends these beds, even though they do cost a lot of green paper. The new bed is strong and sturdy and should last a really really long time!

Product Review- TWISTEP by Portable Pets

A while back, one of Mom's friends gave her this product to try. You see, she has a SUV and even though its not super high off the ground, I don't always like jumping into it. Part of the problem is that Mom forces me to stay in the very far back with the seats up instead of laying them down and giving me lots of room. She's so mean...but she thinks Im safer like that. When the back seats are down and I have lots of room, I tend to stand up. She's worried if there was an accident and I was like that, I'd go crashing into her...or even worse, thru one of the windows.

When Im in the very back with the seat up, I can lean against the seat for stability, and the back of the seat is there to protect me a little if we were to ever crash. Of course, Mom also worries about getting rear-ended while Im back there, but that's a whole other issue. She's tried a harness & seatbelt, but nothing she's found yet seems secure enough so far now I just travel in the very back.

Anyway...because the back seat is in its upright position, I don't feel like I have a lot of room to jump in. So when Mom's friend gave her this product she was super excited.

Of course, Fergie had to do a full inspection.

It was super easy to install...fit right into the hitch on the back of Mom's car.

When its not in use, it tucks right up under the car and doesn't get in the way at all.

Can you see the small space she makes me ride in? Its abuse, I tell you!

When I'm ready to hop in though, she just swings the step out for me, and up I go.

I caught on super fast..but then again, Im smart like that. BOL!

We've had it for a while now, and I do really love it. Mom likes it too cuz she thinks its better for me to step up and down than jump...especially on the way down since I weigh so much!

Have your humans check it out if you don't like jumping, or if you are a big guy like me. I think you'll like it!

DogTV Auditions

There's a new TV station being advertised. Its called Dog TV and is a television channel actually FOR us doggies. Its suppose to entertain us, or relax us, and keep our minds busy while our owners are doing other things.

Today they had auditions at a local pet store.Mom and her friends thought it would be fun to take us down and see what happened.

We got there right at 1pm, when it was suppose to start, and there was already a long line of people & their pups waiting to audition. Mom was a little worried since it was a small space & lots of dogs...sometimes just the recipe for snarkiness if a dog is feeling too confined with no where to go.

She put our name down and then we waited...and waited...and waited...

It was good people/dog watching though, so it wasn't too boring.

Over the past year, gourmet food trucks have popped up all over Sandy Eggo. This one was called the "Dog Shack" and served gourmet hot dogs for the people. None for the dogs, unfortunately!

They had all kinds of breeds of hot dogs. "Chow Chow" hot dogs, "German Shepherd", "Golden Retriever" hot dogs...and there was even the "Great Dane"! I thought they sounded delicious, but Mom wouldn't let me get one. I would have loved to have said I had once eaten a Chihuahua! BOL!

After waiting for about an hour, Mom was getting restless. They still hadn't called our name, and the paper we had signed up on had somehow ended up at the bottom of the pile! The line was only getting longer!

Finally, Mom couldn't take the growling of her stomach anymore...so we left before our names were called. We walked over to a local eatery and had lunch in the nice cool shade. As we walked back to the car, about an hour later, the line was still as long as ever. Ginger's Mom was parked behind the store, so on her way back to the car she stopped by to see if her name had been called while we were gone. It had, so they took her in front of the other doggies & she had her audition. With any luck, we'll get to see pretty Ginger on DogTV one of these days! I guess my 15 minutes of fame will just have to wait!

De-Stress day at UCSD!

Tuesday, Mom took the day off work to do something special with me.

We went to a local college with a bunch of other Therapy dogs to participate in a "de-stress" day.

I got to ride in an elevator, which was kinda cool.

I'd never been in one with a window though! It was a little freaky watching the ground get closer and closer!

The weather was beautiful, so we hung outside on the grass and under shade tents. Students stopped by as they had time to say "hi"...it was a busy week for them, all of them kept complaining about something called "finals".

I got lots of leans in, and even more ear scritches!

I even got some belly rubs!

It was a grrreat day. I made so many new friends.

and even some new four legged friends!

Me & Mom got lots of "Thank yous" from the students. Many of them have dogs of their own, but because they are away at college they had to leave them with their folks.

Few, it was a fun filled day but boy was I exhausted by the time I got home!

Oui la la!

Finally....we have a little culture and sophistication in our house! BOL!!

This pretty little girl came to stay with us yesterday. The latest of our foster dogs, Nice is a French Poodle. Mom says she was named after a beautiful city in France...a long long way from Sandy Eggo.

So far she is fitting in rather nicely. She's a little timid of me, but definitely not as terrified as our last foster Arlana.

She still hasn't figured out the kitTONs yet, but as long as they leave her alone she leaves them alone, so all is good on the kitTON front as well.

Nice will be staying with us until she finds a permanent home. Second Chance Dog Rescue picked her up from a shelter on Tuesday...it was her last day there, so they literally saved her life. They think she's about 1 year old, and she's super sweet. She has a little case of Kennel Cough right now, but should recover nicely.

She'll get spayed on Saturday and then will be ready for a forever home. Hopefully she'll keep up with our record of quickly adopting out our fosters!! She sure is cute, so Mom thinks she'll go pretty fast. Wish her luck!
