A couple of Sundays ago, I participated in a doggie fashion show for a short segment on one of the local news stations.
They were doing a promotion for P.A.W.S. (Pets Are Wonderful Support)
P.A.W.S is a wonderful charity who helps disabled and low income families keep their beloved pets. They help pay for food & medical care when necessary. Their big fundraising event was coming up and they were trying to get the word out so people would attend.
A friend of Mom's is on the board of directors for the charity and knew right away that she wanted my handsomeness in the fashion show.
So, several other doggies & I went down to the news station early Sunday morning for our big 15 minutes of fame!
This guy took the cuteness trophy home. He was adorable!
This pretty gal had all her tricks down. She played dead, rolled over, sat up pretty & even jumped through her Mom's arms as if they were a hoop!
This little guy was there as the adoptable pup of the weekend. He had quite a story! Apparently, his whole litter was born behind a dumpster in a relatively secluded commercial section of Sandy Eggo. When he was just a couple of weeks old, a big mean coyote came and attacked the litter! People working in the area saw this little guy in the coyote's mouth and chased after it. Luckily, the coyote dropped the pup, but not before a lot of damage was done.
Look at that happy face though! You'd never know he'd been through such a trauma. He even tried to take me on!
He's got some pretty big scars left over from the attack though. Fortunately, they seem to all be on the outside...his heart and soul are as strong as ever!
Us doggies had a pretty easy role. We just had to walk with the models and look pretty.
Unfortunately, when it came to be my turn....I was a big chicken and din't want to walk without Mom. She was SOOO mad that she had to go on camera with me! Luckily, they gave her a big floppy sunhat to wear and she could hide behind it while standing next to the model. BOL!
I kept tryin to tell her I needed GIRL models. These two loved me & I would have done just fine with them!
The host of the program, Leonard Simpson, was super nice. He has a big dopey Labradoodle named Clyde, so I knew he was an ok guy.
Even though I was nervous and woudn't walk without Mom, it was a super fun morning and we sure hope the fundraising event rasies LOTS of green paper for P.A.W.S!
