Dear Dog, I love you

Mom got an email a little bit ago from a guy named Jed.

He's a film maker at Columbia University in NYC and recently made a short romantic comedy about a guy who thinks his dog can talk. BOL! Dog's talk all the time, why do you think we started blogging?

Anyway, It’s called, "Dear Dog, I Love You", and it stars a very special rescued dog. The nice thing is they plan to use the finished product to raise support for shelters and the rescue process. I always like guys who are all about rescue & supporting shelters, so I'm posting his information here for you to see.

This is a special film because it stars the up and coming dog actor Paul Newman.  A few short years ago, Paul Newman was found tied and starved in an abandoned garage.  He was rescued by Suzanne Fitch of Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue, where he was matched with his wonderful trainer and caretaker, Karen.  Now Paul Newman is one of the smartest and most talented dogs I know.

Check it out!

Its exciting that he raised all the green paper money that he needed, but you should still check him out and spread the word. It looks like a great movie!

Puppies!!

Mom came back smellin a little suspicious a couple of weeks ago She smelled like puppies....lots and lots of puppies.

Pit Bull Rescue here in Sandy Eggo had a litter of 11 pups. They were about 8 weeks old and needed some socialization.

So Mom went over and got to play with them for about an hour. She was still squealin about their cuteness when she got home.

I couldn't go cuz they all had a little bit of sickies...nothing serious, but Mom didn't want to take any chances.

Sugar, such a patient Mom!

getting attacked by 2 of her pups

trouble makers...the whole bunch!

look at those cute faces!

lots of playing going on

redirecting those puppy teeth to something other than skin!

watching over her babies

John John...the little runt

getting tired

time for a snack and a little nap

all the puppies wanted to chew on Mom's toes!

smoosh face

These guys were going to stay with their Mom for another week or so, and then were going to be fostered out in pairs. Hopefully they find homes quickly...as cute as they were I don't think that will be much of a problem!

A Leash Your Fitness kind of morning

Oh geez. I can't believe its been over a month since Mom last posted!

Don't worry. Everything's fine here in Sandy Eggo, Mom's just been super busy at work and hasn't much felt like getting on the computer once she gets home from work. Hopefully that will change soon but I'm not holding my breath. She's got a big project at work that doesn't finish up til February (hopefully!), plus I keep hearing her talk about some trips coming up. A cousin getting married at the end of September, and then something about going to Ethiopia for 3 week at the end of November. I don't think I like the sounds of that!!

One thing we've been busy with is our Leash Your Fitness classes. Mom's been taking me 3-4 times a week.

Normally, on Sunday we meet at Markim Pet Resort, but this Sunday was special...we got to meet at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach. Its a gorgeous park overlooking Mission Bay. It was kind of overcast still during our class, which is nice cuz it keeps it from getting too hot.

Overcast or not, it sure was a pretty view!

I got to make a few new furriends this morning...which is always fun!

This is Sierra...a 10 month old Husky. She was beautiful & we hit it off instantly!

At 10 months, she still looks completely puppyish. Part of that is because she's a little on the petite side, but she also has some auto-immune issues that have kept her from getting her adult coat in.

Her Mom said she'll probably never ever lose that puppy coat. I thought she looked adorable, and so far it seems like her coat is the only thing affected by her auto-immune problem, which is a good thing!

Of course, Ginger, one of my besties was there.

And a new bulldog that I didnt get to meet up close. His name is Riley and I'm not always the friendliest to bulldogs, so our Moms kept us a safe distance apart. I was extra good today though and didn't even growl at him!

This little girl didn't want to make furriends. I think she was a little intimidated by my size. I don't know why! BOL!

After class we took a group shot. It was such a fun class, I hope we go back to that location soon!
