Phriday with Phoebe

Phoebe KitTON LOVES to just hang out next to me & Mom, and now Falkor. She's a very social kitTON...and the epitomy of the saying 'curiosity killed the cat'. Always getting into something, she is super nosy and not afraid of much.



She's always on the lookout for a new adventure...

but at the same time, loves cuddlin and just hanging out. We love Phoebe KitTON!

Meet Falkor

No! Not that Falcor....

THIS Falkor!

Falkor is an 8 year old 'teacup' Great Dane who has come to stay with us for a little while. Her Mom, "E", recently moved to Sandy Eggo to help her sister, "D", out by being a nanny for her 3 year old niece. Unfortunately, the place D lives doesn't allow animals, and its a litle tough to hide a 90 lb Great Dane. Even one as quiet and mellow as Falkor.

Me & Mom met up with E & Falkor last month at a Great Dane meetup. At the time, E had another fostor who was watching Falkor, but over the weekend that fell through. So, now Falkor is gonna stay with us for a little while.

She's super sweet. Phoebe kitTON is fascinated by her, and is already trying to play with her. Fergie, on the other hand is terrified of her for some reason. You'd think by her reaction that she'd never seen a Great Dane before in her life! So far, Fergie is hiding in the bedroom...but Mom thinks she'll come around. Especially when she sees how gentle and calm Falkor is. (Unlike someone Mom knows!!)

I really like her, but wish she would play with me more. All she does is growl at me a little when I try to play. Mom says at her age, ladies prefer to be ladies and not associate with young houligans like me. Whatever! I'm just gonna keep tryin...I know one of these days she'll be persuaded with my good looks and charm!

Sandy Eggo Harbor Walkies

last week, we walked at Shelter Island...this week, we went to the Sandy Eggo harbor for our walkies

It was a beautiful night. Not as overcast, and much warmer than last time. The sky was super pretty over downtown.

Mom wanted to try out my new harness. Again. This is the 3rd time I've used it now, and she keeps hopin she'll like it. But each time she puts it on, she doesn't. I wonder how many more times she's gonna try?!?

We saw the Harbor Cruise go by. I think this might have been the boat I got to go on for Pet Day on the Bay.

Simple Sunday

Mom went on a hike this morning...but she din't take me with her cuz I'm still not allowed to do anything too strenuous. Hopefully restrictions will be lifted this week, cuz they suck!

In honor of Easter, and the beautiful (but gloomy) spring we are having, Mom wanted to share some of the Sandy Eggo wildflowers she saw this morning.

Even though I had to stay home, I was pooped out...so Phoebe & I took a short nap together. She's kind of a bed hog!

and since I had to stay home, I needed to look for other ways to release my energy.

Unfortunately, Easter Monkey took the main brunt of my release.

Shelter Island Walkies

Mom took me on a long walk on Shelter Island last night. Since I'm not allowed to run and jump for another week, this is my only form of energy release. I tell you...it sucks!!

Sandy Eggo bay is very pretty though. Last night it was a little overcast...but it was still a great night for a walk.

Only saw a few sale boats coming back into the harbor. There wasn't much wind out though, so that probably would explain why there weren't many boats out.

Dhani needs some practice takin pictures. She kept lookin away every time Mom tried to snap a shot!

Even though it looks cold and stormy...this is pretty normal weather for Sandy Eggo...especially in the spring and summer time. Once we get into May we call it May Grey...and then it becomes June Gloom. It seems our sunniest days are usually in the winter. December and January are crisp & clear...but can be cold! Once Spring comes around, during the day it will be nice and sunny and the clouds are only around in the morning and in the evening...but sometimes we don't get to see the sun all day long! That all changes come July, August & September though...those are our hottest months!

All in all it was a good night for a walk. I sure can't wait to get running again though!

The Green Flash!

Mom is always on the lookout for accessories for me. As you know, collars are one of her weaknesses. I think I have more collars than there are days in the week!

The latest accessory is sort of a collar...cuz it goes over my neck, but its not meant for hooking a leash to. Its more for looks, and to help Mom find me when go to the park or to the beach in the evening when it gets dark.

The collar came from Glowdoggie. They are a Canadian company, eh, and have the most fabulousest customer service ever. There are lots of colors to choose from, and if you really wanted to go crazy you could have your human get you a few different colors to wear at the same time!

The collars are pretty cool...with a crazy auto-magical feature that turns them on and off depending on how you have them positioned. Their prices are a little high...especially after you add in shipping and the exchange rate from Canadian paper money to US paper money...but isn't that why Mom has a job? To pay for nice things for me? BOL

It was hard for Mom to get a picture of the collar at night. I din't really want to cooperate, and kept moving every time she went to take the picture.

These are the pictures she got when I was moving. I think they look like art and told her she should sell them on Etsy....but she din't agree with me.

Finally! Mom stops goofin off and gets some decent pictures of me in my new GlowDoggie collar!

Weekend Fun!

What a fun weekend!

Me, Mom, Auntie Holly, Dhani & Auntie Kim did a little road trip up to Los Angeles on Sunday and spent the day acting like tourists.

We drove and saw the Hollywood sign...

from the Hollywood sign, we could also see downtown LA in the distance. It was a little smoggy, but not too bad!

Of course, Mom had to embarrass me and made me take a picture with this stupid sign.

Then we drove over to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There were lots of people out and about, and I had a lot of people stop and want to take a picture with me. I felt like a celebrity!

It was a super hot day though, and both me & Dhani were melting...so Mom wasn't able to get as many pictures as she was hoping for.

Here I am, posing on the red carpet in front of Grauman's Mann Chinese Theater.

It was built in 1927 and has footprints & handprints in the pavement all surrounding the theater. Lots of famous people & even some animals! We saw Trigger's hoof prints from "The Lone Ranger".

Before we left, Mom got a picture of Dhani & I sitting next to the Chinese Heaven's Dogs...these big dogs guard the entrance to the theater. At first I was scared of them, but then I figured out they were just statues!

It was such a fun day! Just wish it had been a little cooler...that marble walkway in front of the theather was HOT!!
