52 weeks of Murphy - 14/52

It was a fun fun evening at Fiesta Island last night. Mom took me there hopin to do a photoshoot with the wildflowers, and boy did we ever do a photoshoot!
Every year, Fiesta Island gets covered in wildflowers. Some years, the blooms are better than others. Usually, if its a wet year the flowers will be good. Well, it was a wet year in Sandy Eggo and I think its safe to say the wildflowers good this year!
Here's her pick for this weeks "52 Weeks of Dogs" submission. She's callin it "Golden Boy".
Mom thought you might like to see some of the other pictures from last night. Some of them have the focus on the flowers instead of yours truly, but overall Mom thinks they turned out pretty good.

Mom kept throwin rocks out into the flowers to make me run out there in the middle of them. I had a great time pouncin on them!

After an hour and a half of running around through the flowers, I was starting to turn a bit yellow!

Here's another picture of my yellow feet...I had yellow pollen all the way up past my elbows! Some of the patches of flowers were so tall I couldn't even see over them!

Weekend Recap

It was a super fun, super busy weekend. It started off on Saturday, playin with a Mango look alike. This boys name is Duke and he's one of my favoritest dogs to play with. He's a couple of months younger than me, but already out weighs me by about 30 lbs!

Then, on Sunday...I had my very first adventure as a Therapy Dog! I got to join a pack of 4 other dogs and we visted a nursing home Easter morning. One of the other doggies even had bunny ears on! Mom tried to get me to wear some too, but I dint like em at all. For some reason, whenever they were on my head, I couldn't move a muscle!! It was like they were kryptonite or sumthin!

There were 4 other doggies who joined us at the nursing home. Two Golden Retreivers named Duncan and Taylor, a Golden/Brittany mix named Daisy, and a Labradoodle named Bungee.

Daisy was a nice girl. She din't seem to mind the bunny ears at all! Do ya think she might be a playboy bunny in her spare time?

This was my first time visting as a Therapy dog. I think I kinda like it! I got to meet all kinds of really nice people, and got lots of pets!

This one woman really liked me. She was in part of the nursing home that was locked closed because the patients had Alzheimers, or dementia, or some other mental illness that made it unsafe for them to be able to leave. I have to say, every single one of them was super nice...even if they were a little forgetful. One gentleman who was in his 90's (wow, that's a LOT in dog years!) kept forgetting about me until I came up to him again. Each time he saw me again, it was like seeing me for the very first time and he would say "Holy Moly! Thats one BIG dog!". Mom was tryin hard not to giggle, but wasn't doin a very good job. Luckily, I don't think anyone noticed.

After the nursing home visit, we headed over to Balboa Park for my photo shoot. Here are some of the other pictures Mom got of me with the big murals that are painted at the World Beat Center.

I kinda like this one...you can't really see what the murel is, but its a big white cross. I think I'm kinda glowin in the picture!

Phew...after our long day, we headed back to the house for a nice cat nap. Luckily, I had just the cat to nap with!

52 Weeks of Murphy - 13/52

Mom took me over to the World Beat Center in Balboa park for a photoshoot for this weeks 52 weeks of Dogs.

This was as good as it got though...for the most part, I was a big chicken and wouldn't get near any of the murals that had people or animals painted on them. Wayyyy too scary.

Murphy's Mom here...as you may have heard, there was a relatively large earthquake in Mexico this afternoon. At 7.2, it was strong enough to feel in San Diego and even as far away as the LA area. There was even some reports of minor damage around town.

I was in the car at the time, stopped at an intersection when I felt the car begin to sway. My first thought was to tell Murphy to lay down in the back...then I remembered he wasn't even with me! Being in the car though, it really didn't feel like a big one and I didn't even hear about the size of it until I got back to the house about 30 minutes later.

Murphy's house had no damage, other than 2 wooden cat sculptures that decided to jump off the shelf where they were sitting.

Sumthing's Fishy

Der was sumthin fishy goin on Thursday night before class. As usual, Mom and I took a walkie around Balboa park before Obedience class started. As we came upon the reflecting pool, the water looked nice and inviting.

Its a good thing I din't jump in though, cuz as we got closer look what I saw!
Yep...dat's right! Dat's a GIANT fish!!!

I think sum of them musta eaten a calico cat or two...check out those colors!

I was brave...err...ummm...at least I tried to act brave. I sure as heck din't want to get too close! If they can eat calico cats, who knows what they can do to Great Danes!
