Puppies!!

Mom came back smellin a little suspicious a couple of weeks ago She smelled like puppies....lots and lots of puppies.

Pit Bull Rescue here in Sandy Eggo had a litter of 11 pups. They were about 8 weeks old and needed some socialization.

So Mom went over and got to play with them for about an hour. She was still squealin about their cuteness when she got home.

I couldn't go cuz they all had a little bit of sickies...nothing serious, but Mom didn't want to take any chances.

Sugar, such a patient Mom!

getting attacked by 2 of her pups

trouble makers...the whole bunch!

look at those cute faces!

lots of playing going on

redirecting those puppy teeth to something other than skin!

watching over her babies

John John...the little runt

getting tired

time for a snack and a little nap

all the puppies wanted to chew on Mom's toes!

smoosh face

These guys were going to stay with their Mom for another week or so, and then were going to be fostered out in pairs. Hopefully they find homes quickly...as cute as they were I don't think that will be much of a problem!

A Leash Your Fitness kind of morning

Oh geez. I can't believe its been over a month since Mom last posted!

Don't worry. Everything's fine here in Sandy Eggo, Mom's just been super busy at work and hasn't much felt like getting on the computer once she gets home from work. Hopefully that will change soon but I'm not holding my breath. She's got a big project at work that doesn't finish up til February (hopefully!), plus I keep hearing her talk about some trips coming up. A cousin getting married at the end of September, and then something about going to Ethiopia for 3 week at the end of November. I don't think I like the sounds of that!!

One thing we've been busy with is our Leash Your Fitness classes. Mom's been taking me 3-4 times a week.

Normally, on Sunday we meet at Markim Pet Resort, but this Sunday was special...we got to meet at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach. Its a gorgeous park overlooking Mission Bay. It was kind of overcast still during our class, which is nice cuz it keeps it from getting too hot.

Overcast or not, it sure was a pretty view!

I got to make a few new furriends this morning...which is always fun!

This is Sierra...a 10 month old Husky. She was beautiful & we hit it off instantly!

At 10 months, she still looks completely puppyish. Part of that is because she's a little on the petite side, but she also has some auto-immune issues that have kept her from getting her adult coat in.

Her Mom said she'll probably never ever lose that puppy coat. I thought she looked adorable, and so far it seems like her coat is the only thing affected by her auto-immune problem, which is a good thing!

Of course, Ginger, one of my besties was there.

And a new bulldog that I didnt get to meet up close. His name is Riley and I'm not always the friendliest to bulldogs, so our Moms kept us a safe distance apart. I was extra good today though and didn't even growl at him!

This little girl didn't want to make furriends. I think she was a little intimidated by my size. I don't know why! BOL!

After class we took a group shot. It was such a fun class, I hope we go back to that location soon!

Mom went hunting!

It was a calmy and balmy morning.

Mom got up at the crack of dawn, cuz that's when all the animals are just waking up and are slow and groggy.

She drove for an hour. To the best hunting spot around. This place she goes, its got all kinds of animals. And variety it what I like.

BOL! Did I fool ya? Yeah, Mom really dint go hunting. She's a complete city girl and probably couldn't shoot an animal whether her life was depending on it or not.

Once a month though, she heads up to Walmart in Temecula. Its about an hour away from Sandy Eggo. Her and another 'mighty hunter' pick up meat once a month. Its all the meat that Walmart can't sell to bipeds anymore, for one reason or another. Sometimes its been returned, cuz the biped didn't really mean to buy it. Other times, the store just ordered too much and couldn't sell it all. And sometimes its past its 'sell by' date so humans aren't suppose to eat it. Its still good for me though!

The haul was great this month. Sometime's Mom gets LOTS of ground beef, or lots of Chicken which I don't eat anymore cuz it seems to give my tummies trouble. This time, she got a ton of steaks! Ribeye, T-Bone, porter house. You name it, she got it. It was probably close to 150 lbs! More than I can eat in a month, but that's ok...not every month's 'hunt' is this good.

This was so good in fact that once it was all 'processed', it wouldn't even all fit in my 7 cubic ft freezer!

Mom had to re-organize her personal freezer in the house just to be able to store it all. Boy, am I gonna be eating good this month!!

Mango's Gotcha Day!

oh boy, do I need a new secretary. So sorry I've been so bad about blogging lately! Mom's got this super duper huge project she's working on at the office (the project name is Everest if that tells you anything!) and by the time she comes home from work the last thing she wants to do is get on the computer again.

I've got a lot to update you on though, so hopefully she can keep her focus for a little while!

A few weeks ago, after one of our Leash Your Fitness classes, we got to celebrate with cake! It was my good friend Mango's Gotcha Day! Mango was just a young pup when her Mom rescued her from the streets of Tijuana. You see, Sandy Eggo is very very close to the Mexico border, and sometimes the dogs down in Tijuana (and the people too!) don't have very good lives. Luckily, she's got the BEST Mom ever now!

Mango's Mom brought a delicious doggie cake for all of us to share.

Ginger & Logan want the first bite!

We all tried to wait patiently while she cut it, but it was tough! That cake looked delicious!
That's Mango at the bottom of the picture, what a good girl!
Good thing she brought the cake saw! BOL!

Thanks Mom! Can I have another?!?

Scooter, waiting patiently for another bite

I love celebrating "Gotcha" days!
