Mom signed me up for another year with "12 Months for Dogs"...so don't worry, you'll be seeing more pictures of me throughout the year!

Meet Rheda

Rheda is our new foster dog! Mom decided one of her resolutions for the New Year would be to do more volunteering. Since she's super busy and doesn't have a lot of spare time, this seemed like a good option!

Rheda is about a year old. She came from a horrible shelter in San Bernadino..and was just about to be put to sleep when a local rescue in Sandy Eggo pulled her. She's completely adoptable, but apparently this shelter kills perfectly healthy doggies all the time...even when they are not full!! Ugh, that just makes both me & Mom sick!

Lucky for Rheda, Second Chance Dog Rescue got her out in time and now she's staying with us for a little bit. I'm sure she'll find a forever home in no time, she's soooo sweet and very cute! How could anyone not fall in love with those eyebrows? BOL!

I'm a Therapy Dog!

Back in October/November, me & Mom took a Therapy Dog prep class with a training group here in Sandy Eggo. The class was given by Paws'itive Teams, and its purpose was to give Mom more information about all the different therapy dog programs out there, as well as get me used to some of the situations I'd be exposed to as a Therapy dog. Walkers, wheel chairs, over-excited kids. We practiced all kinds of situations so I'd be prepared for the big day.

Well, I graduated that class and then Mom decided to get us certified with Therapy Dogs Inc. Delta Society was out of the question cuz I am on a raw diet, and a few of the other national certification programs don't allow you to be certified with more than one group. We knew we might want to do a variety of things, and Therapy Dogs Inc seemed to fit us perfectly.

Right before Mom went on her big trip, she took me to be evaluated. I passed with flying colors! Our next step was to have supervised visits with the evaluator. So she could make sure my personality was going to be a good fit for a Therapy dog.

We finished the last of the supervised visits today, and I'm all signed off! Now Mom just has to send in the paperwork and I'll be able to go visit kids in the hospital! How pawsome is that!?!

I'm back!! (for my 400th post!!)

Mom apologizes for not blogging in such a long time...she went on a big trip and was gone FUREVER! While she was gone, I got to stay with Grandpaw and Grandmaw. I had a lot of fun, and they even took me to see Santa!

If you want to read all about Mom's trip, you can check out her other bloggie here. Its all about her trip to a place called Ethiopia.

Christmas was extra special though, cuz Mom came back a week before we opened pressies. Having her back was pressie enough, but it was icing on the cake when I got to open my own packages!!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!

Santa Margarita Trail

A couple of weeks ago I got to go on a hike with Mom & a bunch of my LYF furriends.

What a fabulous day we had! 15 bipeds and 16 of us quadrapeds! BOL!

Mom had me all decked out in my hiking gear, along with a new halti type training collar. As if I dont get enough of the horse comments!

It was a gorgeous trail, right along the Santa Margarita River in Fallbrook CA. Its about a 40 minute drive north of Sandy Eggo.

Cousin Dhani was there...it was her first time on the hike and she loved it!

Like I said, the trail runs right along the river so there were quite a few occasions for us to stop and romp in the water. My favorite thing to do!

This lil gal was the smallest member of the hike. She regularly hikes with her Mom so, keeping up with all of us was no problemo!

Jack, of course, had to bring his ball. Boy is he ever obsessed!

It was a bit on the bright side, so Bently had to put on her doggles. BOL! She was so cute!

All in all, we hiked about 5 miles round trip. Good thing we were back at the car when Ginger did this, cuz I'm not sure who would have carried her back! She was one pooped pooch! BOL!
