It was an accident!

uh oh. I think Mom's mad at me. Sumthin about no more rock hard abs.

Seriously. I din't mean to. I wuz just playin with the ball all nice and everything, and then it did this. Mom gave me the evil eye, mean face, and made me go lay down on my bed.

really though...I've seen Mom's abs. She's not foolin anyone...this ball just sat in the corner takin up space. I was just tryin to help de-clutter the house!

I'm a muse!

A friend's boyfriend teaches at a local art school. A few weeks ago when we went camping, he came along and kept tellin Mom what a cool lookin dog I am. (uhhh...duh!)

He asked Mom for some pictures of me so he could use them in one of his classes. Thought I would be a good subject for graphite and charcoal drawings. (again...duh! will ya just look at my coat!?!)

Here's a rough sketch of me that he did the other night. This was done in 10 minutes! Now that's what I call talent! Boy, if he can do this in 10 minutes, I can't wait to see what a finished product will look like!

Mr. Darcy - running free

A beautiful boy Dane crossed the rainbow bridge today after a valiant fight against Wobblers.

Mr. Darcy was an online Dane friend, and we've been following his struggle with his disease. His mom did absolutely everything she could to try and help him. He is a very lucky doggie to have such a loving human.

Here is a cute picture of him as a pup....

and another taken recently, where he was enjoying a day out with his family.

Mr. Darcy is now in a peaceful place, a place where he can run and be free of pain. Bristol and Tyler are surely racing around with him as I type this.

RIP, Mr. Darcy.

Tribute To A Best Friend
Sunlight streams through window pane unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember, it's where you used to lie, but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound....
then I remember, It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floorand empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend until we meet above.

Mom's back & it's a giant MOUSE!

Guess What?!?

Mom's back!! (and she wanted me to say "thanks" to all the nice doggies & doggie humans who sent the sweet messages about her Aunt's crossing of the rainbow bridge)

I was so very excited when she came in the front door. As I heard the key in the door, I really thought it was either my super favoritest neighbor Adelle, her most wonderful daughter Hailey, or the bestest pet sitter in all of San Diego, Elissa.

But NO! It was MOM!!! Oh boy oh boy oh boy!! I could hardly contain my excitements and almost knocked over my xpen! When Mom opened up the door to my pen, I couldnt wait to have her hands give me those great pets and rubs. I nibbled and mouthed her, even though I know Im not suppose to...I just couldn't help myself though and had to keep testin to make sure it wasn't a dream. Mom laughed and giggled as she wiped the droolies off her hands and arms, so I don't think she minded too much. I got lots of hugs and kisses from her, so I think she missed me too!

Later, the next day we got to go to the doggie food & toy store. Its one of my all time favorite places, cuz not only do I get lotsa yummy treats but I also usually get to pick out a new toy. Today I got to do BOTH!

I am quite the toy expert. I really like toyz that have all the right qualities. They gotta be fuzzy....and stuffed....and squeak...and grunt...and the bestest thing of all is when they have long flippy floppy things hangin from them!

I snuffled thru the toy aisle and finally settled on this. A giant mouse! It had all the right stuff and once we got home I really settled in to showin it who was boss of dis here house!

Here's the little monster that was chosen to come home with us. Just look at those beady eyes. That fluffy fur. Those giant floppy ears, and even floppier tail. This mouse spells nuthin but T.R.O.U.B.L.E

Luckily, I knows how to deal with critters like this.

First you gotta stare em down.

Show no fear.

Next, pounce on em.

Put their whole head in your mouth and show em you mean business.

Gotta get a good grip on dem with your paws. They can be slippery little suckahs, so use those dew claws if you have them.

Lastly...give em a really good shake!
Make sure you get good ear floppin and lip slappin, its a very effective way of scarin them critters.
Here's a video of me in action...check out my mouse monster smashin and thrashin skillz. They are da bomb!

If you listen...you can hear the lil guy gruntin and groanin as I test out my moves on him. Poor thing is beggin for his life...don'cha worry though, I showed NO MERCY!

A moment of silence...

Mom's eyes have been leaking all weekend...her sweet, beautiful Aunt and God-mother crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday morning. Mom leaves first thing in the morning to be with the family and attend the services later in the week. I promised her no using the computer while she is gone.

Can someone please pass the tylenol?

It started out lookin like it was going to be a good day. Mom loaded me up in the car for what seemed to be a special outing on a Friday morning. You see, we don't usually go places on Fridays cuz Mom has to go to this place called "work", and the last time we drove somewheres early on a Friday it was for campin, so I was kinda excited!
That was until we pulled to to a place with these letters. Since I can't read, I still don't know what it says, but it sure was not campin...I can tell you that much!
I know, I know...the sunny beams make it look all magestic, and heavenly. But let me tell you, it was quite the opposite! Notice the creepy skeleton thingy peakin out the window? Yeah, that shoulda been my first big red flag.
Anyway, Mom took me inside and we walked back to a scary place. There was lots of cages and kennels, and a mean little barky French Bulldog who was trying to eat me thru the cage door. Boy was he a grump! Then...all of a sudden, Mom is gone and I was all by myself. It was so scary!

A little later in the day, some nice people came to get me and tried to stick a pokey thing in my arm. Ouch!! I have to admit, I kinda lost it and started jumpin around and wigglin my bestest. They told my mom later that because of this they were unable to do some pre-anesthetic blood tests. Mom wasn't very happy with me and gave me the evil look when she heard this.

Then, all of a sudden...the next thing I know is I'm wakin up on the floor and BOY do I have a headache! Not to mention the fact that my belly is really sore! What the heck did they do to me??
Mom sat with me for a long while until I started feelin a little better. She gave me lots of nice rubs and kisses and told me I was a good boy. Finally, we got to go home and as soon as I got there I made a bee-line straight to my bed. It sure was nice and comfy.
Then I remembered I hadn't gone potty ALL day long! Oh boy, let me outta here! It was hard to stand up and walk still, but Mom helped me to the door and took me outside. It sure did hurt goin up and down the 2 stairs in the front of the house!

After I got outside, I just picked the first spot I saw and started to go. And go, and go and go and go. Mom couldn't believe how long I went potty for! It seemed like a good 3 or 4 minutes before my aching bladder was emptied. Ahhhhh....what relief.

After we went back inside, Mom made me lay down so she could put an ice pack over my privates. I guess they were a little swollen and she thought that would help. I thought it was kinda funny, cuz the ice pack she used is made by the parent company of the place where she works. I bet they never thought their product would be used like this!

I'm finally startin to feel better though. Mom called my regular favoritest betterinarian and they prescribed some nice pain killers for me. She also mixed up a yummy batch of satin balls for me cuz I am lookin a little skinny. I've been kinda picky lately and am tired of the normal kibble she feeds me.

Plus, I think she feels a bit bad about gettin me neutered and thinks these balls will make me feel better. They sure are yummy!
