Its a special day, Mom says...to make sure you tell those in your life how much you love them.
Today, in the interwebs, lots of our blogger friends are pulling together to show our support for our furriend K who is fighting osteosarcoma. Unfortunately, Mom has had her own fair share of experience with stupid osteosarcoma. Both of her first Danes, Bristol & Tyler, both had it.
Bristol's was first found in a rib...but had spread all over her body by the time it was noticable. Mom lost her just 3 weeks after her diagnosis...but Bristol lived to the ripe old age of 11 years, which is pretty good for us giant dogs!
Tyler's showed up in his back foot. He fought it for several months, but soon his foot got too painful and Mom had to say goodbye. He was only 8 when he went to the Rainbow Bridge.
K's Mom, KB, has an amazing blog, Romping & Rolling in the Rockies, and its obvious how much she loves her boy, R, and her special girl, K. You can see amazing wildlife photos...bears, bobcats, mountain lions...you name it, she's captured it with her photos. And of course, there are the K & R stories photos. She captures their joy and enthusiasm in every photo she takes, and often they are surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Lately, her challenges with the cancer have also been part of her blog. KB's honesty about her fears in dealing with this challenge hit home with all of us who have faced that battle before. That's why we are honoring her and K on this special day.
The power of the paw is strong...we've all seen its amazing work when Maxdog got bad sickies a few years ago. It continues to work with Wilf as well, he is going strong and living life to the fullest despite a grim diagnosis over a year ago.
So, on this special day we just want to say to all our special furriends, we love you!
