Great Dane Meetup

Sunday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Sandy Eggo. Perfect weather for a Great Dane Meetup at Coronado Dog Beach. It was 80 degrees! Summer in December!

The first order of business was a lil Tug-o-War with Atticus. Mom gave me the evil eye for this one since it wasn't our Frisbee!

Tuttle was happy to see me and we quickly started a game of tag!

Another game of tug with Atticus. Yep, you guessed it...not our toy, again! I'm sure the lab it belonged to din't mind!

There were a lot of danes...at one point Mom counted over 20!

One of these things is not like the other...

Atticus stole a kids boot...don't worry. Peanut the Basset was quick to give chase.

Ouch! You gots sharp teeth!

The water was cold...but that din't stop us!

Dexter worked on his tan a bit...

It was such a beautiful day...you could see forever! See the Coronado Islands in the background? Mom says those are actually in Mexican waters!

Strikin a pose

Another one of my BFFs...Lucca loves the water just as much as I do!

Walter even showed up! He was a little stressed though...I think there were too many people and they were makin him nervous!

Mom wants to steal Tuttle...she thinks he is so handsome!

This was Moose's first time at the meetup...he kinda stayed to himself.

Tuttle & I showed Astro how to play like a big dog!

ACK! Don't just stand there Astro! Bite him!

This is how you dig to China, kid...

Makin sand angels

Phew...all this playin is tiring!

It happened again...

This big box gets delivered to the house on Friday. I can't read...but there's a paw print on the box. That's gotta be for me, right?

Fergie & Phoebe are excited too....especially when Mom points out the word 'kitty' on the side of the box.

WHAT!?!

Another present for THEM?!?

Maybe if I stand on the box Mom wont be able to open it!

Drat. This doesn't look like anything a dog could use. Except to maybe chew on!

Mom starts putting the thing together, and right away Fergie is rubbin it in. What does she know about construction anyhow?

uhh...Fergie. You need THUMBS to turn that allen wrench! Duh!

Grrr...I swear, these kitTONs are really pushin their luck around here. How come they get all the good stuff?

Check out that view they have!

Hey! Mom! I think you should send it back. It looks too small for Fergie. She can't even fit her whole body on that top perch!

Christmas is coming soon, right?

Maybe Santa Paws will bring me something good!

Priority mail is my favorite!

A package came in the mail the other day...addressed to yours truly, and sent from a fabulous placed called "All Things Dog Blog". Mom had entered us in a contest they were having on their bloggie.

Me & Fergie even got our picture posted on their bloggie from when she was just a little fuzzy kitTON! (Mom & I are still wondering where all her stripeys came from since she was a grey lil fluffball when she first came to live with us.)

Well, we din't win the grand prize but we did get chosen as a runner up and our presents came in the mail

Fergie & Phoebe were very impatient for Mom to open the box up.

once she did, boy was there lots of good stuff, including a great reminder of all the fabulous resources that can be found at All Things Dog Blog. They even have a Facebook page!

a free bag of Mom's favorite cat litter! seriously, this stuff really IS the World's Best!

Even a big bandanna for me! I think I look kinda stylin...whaddya think?

Mom was really surprised at the number of prizes in the box. She sends a huge "Thanks!!" over to All Things Dog Blog!

After all was said and done though, I think the most favorite thing was the empty box. Fergie & Phoebe are STILL playin with it 3 days later!

My new cousin!

Mom spent all day hanging out with my Auntie Holly. You see, Holly had to help her 14 year old bulldog transition to the rainbow bridge back in March and has been dogless (well...except for me, her nephew, of course) since then.

Recently, she decided she needed to add a new dog to her family, so her and Mom hit the shelters today...looking for the perfect dog.

And they found her.

She's a terrier blend that the shelter named Maxine. Auntie Holly is prolly gonna change her name...she doesn't really look like a Maxine. Any suggestions?? She's about 5 months old and only 20 lbs, so she prolly wont be as big as me when she grows up. But then again not many dogs are.

here she is gettin her brand new collar & leash on...ready to go home with Holly

Auntie Holly is so happy! Life is never quite complete without a four legged companion.

Isn't she cute! I got to meet her for a little bit, but I think I made her a little nervous. Mom didn't want to overwhelm her too much on her very first day with my auntie, so they kept the visit short.

I think we are gonna be fast friends though...I can't wait to get to know her better and can't wait to hear what her name turns out to be!
