Mutt Mingle

Me & Mom went to a Mutt Mingle at the Porto Vista Hotel in Little Italy. It was our first time at an event like this at this location and Mom was a little nervous about how it was going to play out. The last yappy hour we went to was a little chaotic, with lots of dogs off-leash in a pretty confined space...Mom thinks that can be a recipe for a fight. Plus, lots of the owners weren't even paying attention to their dogs. What's the point of taking your dog some place if you are just going to forget he or she is there once you get there?

This one was on the rooftop of a really nice hotel over-looking Sandy Eggo harbor.

Since it was on the roof, that meant I got to go on an elevator ride! I'd been in one before, when I was a little tyke, but it had been a while so I was a little nervous. Its kinda a strange feeling to feel the floor movin below ya!

Once on the roof though, I decided it wasn't so bad. The view was super nice, and the patio was nice and spacious. Plenty of room for us big doggies!

A few of my favorite friends were here from the Great Dane Meetup. Sampson (the fawn), Bella (the merle), Wilson (not shown) and an English Mastiff friend from the park named Walter. Walter is super duper dog friendly, but super duper scareded of humans so he was hunkered down behind the table so no one would pet him.

Bella and I got to play a bit, but it was kinda hard cuz we were on our leashes. Mom doesn't like it when I play on my leash...prolly cuz I am always getting tangled up in it!

If you look closely, you'll notice that the thing I am standing on is actually a coffee table! Boy oh boy, I could never get away with that at home!

Mom even let me get up in one of the chairs so she could take my picture with the view! Unfortunately, she musta left her photo takin skillz at home...cuz this one dint turn out all that great, you can't even see that sky!

As we were leaving, I saw this guy comin in. Apparently, he doesn't know that dogs are allowed tonight!! BOL!

Anyway, Mom says this Mutt Mingle was much better than the last. Most people kept their doggies on-leash, which made for a much less stressy experience for Mom. Those that were off leash stayed super close to their humans and didn't get into trouble. All in all it was a fun way to spend an evening!

I gots da skinny on da "Skinneeez"!

Oh wow! This post is WAY overdue!! I'm gonna hafta make sure my secretary is more on top of things!

A few weeks ago, Mom got a super duper cool email askin if I'd like to try some doggie toys and then post a review. Would I??? Sheesh! You bet I would!

Turns out they have kitTON toys as well. Super duper fun toyz for both me & my fursisters!!

I gotta tell you...I am liking that mailman more and more! Especially when he has a box for me! I could tell right away there were good things inside. Mom said it was kinda like Christmas...only in July!

Fergie decided she needed to investimagate as well. I couldn't wait for Mom to open it!!

When we looked inside there were all kinds of fun things! One for each of us! How cool is that?!?!

I was a nice guy and let my sister check it out first.

She apparently has no manners, and just crawled right inside the box tryin to get to her gift.

She picked one of the "Skinneeez for cats", it was the duck from the Barnyard Series!

Next it was my turn. I could tell right away which one was mine. It was called the "Skinneeez Big Bite Wolf!", very appropriate if I do say so myself.

This toy was so much fun! Nice and fluffy soft, but it was missing one thing. STUFFING! There was no stuffing! Instead, a empty water bottle was inside for me to crinkle and chomp.
I sure do like the noise they make!

That left Phoebe with the 2nd "Skinneeez for cats", a cute lil squirrel from the Forest Series.

Mom removed them from the packaging (although I think da girls woulda played with em still attached to the cardboard) and the fun began!

Overall these toyz get a great rating. Especially the kitTON toys. They were stuffed with catnip and had floppy legs & tails which both the kitties really like.

My doggie toy was a big hit too. Mom really liked that there was no stuffing cuz all I do is pull it out anyway and make a big mess. I love love loved the empty water bottle. It made cool noises as I chewed on it. Mom wasn't as crazy about the bottle though, cuz I was able to get it out of the toy pretty easily...and then I started chewin off the cap. The meanie took it away from me pretty quickly. I still enjoy the toy itself though! Its super soft and floppy...great for shakin my head and KILLIN it again, and again and again!!

Weekend Wrapup

Mom disappeared on Saturday. Come to find out she went up to San Hose-Aye to visit my cousin. It was a big day for Evie...it was her 1st Birthday!

I was a lil upset that I dint get to go, but when Mom came home on Sunday she totally made it up to me by taking me to Ocean Beach Dog Beach for a Great Dane Meetup!

As always, some of my favorite doggies were there...

Wilson, with wilson (his namesake)

Ummm...it got a lil deeper than I expected here

I knew this doggie was gonna need help bringin the ball in...

Dexter thought he could walk on water!

Emmee & Walter's first trip to the beach!

Blech! Salt water!

it didn't take em long to figure out the fun to be had in the sand!

meanwhile, Dexter is still tryin to walk on water!

pinned by Atticus & Dexter!

Trinity & Rebel ganging up on me!

we're not really sure this is a dog...

racing Chloe to the ball!

Boy, what a fun evening! Guess I'll let it slide that Mom dint take me along to San Hose-Aye...at least for the time being!
